Our disguise!
Our family home evening group, from the singles ward, planned an activity called a scripture chase, at the University Mall in Orem. They phoned us and asked us to disguise ourselves and go to the mall and be in a specific area and try to fool the groups who were going around looking for us. If they found us, we had a scripture on a strip of paper that we gave them. Then when it was over, the leader used the scriptures for part of the lesson. Don't know if that makes sense to you but here are some pictures and the results of our adventure. This is of Dick's counselors and one of their wives and us.
We went shopping and got Dick a shirt and pants that were a bit too big for him. We also picked up some black hair paint and a black mustache. I thought these would be too dark for him but they turned out great! He had black hair and a ball cap, a mustache, a towel pinned around his waist under the clothes, a boot on his leg, from
when he had tendonitis, and some thick glasses that he wore down on his nose.
I wore a reddish wig, a hat and sweater of Kathy's, glasses and clogs.
I was going to take Kathy's stroller and push it around but at the last minute, I called Cristy and she agreed to come with Corbin and the girls. They became part of our disguise!
We had a great time. The first kids walked right past us and wouldn't have found us but Dick and Cristy were talking and pointing and the kids who were straggling behind saw us. From then on we stayed in the same spot but didn't make eye contact and no one noticed us.
